A location I truly love working in, for engagement shoots in particular, is Gunnersbury Park: a picturesque haven of natural beauty nestled in the heart of west London. With its diverse backdrops that include romantic tree-lined paths, elegant regency architecture and wide open fields; it offers a rich canvas for capturing a variety of beautiful images.
I recently shot a session there that was just stunning. The late afternoon light gave everything a soft, dreamy glow, and the couple’s connection came alive against the backdrop of sun-dappled trees and the quiet corners of the park.

My Favourite London Locations
I enjoy working in locations all around London with a few of my favourites being:
- Gunnersbury Park – For engagement shoots where the couple wants a variety of different locations that provide a wide range of beautiful possibilities for compositions and therefore a harmonious but varied album of images.
- Richmond Park – This location is a particular favourite of mine in the Autumn to capture the warmth of the changing seasons as you celebrate your love. With a wide variation of locations within the park that range from structured wilderness to wild fields full of beautiful deer and a lake of herons; this location celebrates nature in vivid colour.
- Richmond Hill – Another wonderful natural location in London that always makes for a pleasant photoshoot experience and beautiful photos you’ll treasure.
However, if you have a location that’s meaningful to you as a couple, I’m always happy to travel for a more personal touch.
The Power of Perfect Timing
Timing and weather play a crucial role in creating standout images. I recommend shooting either early in the morning or during the soft, warm light of late afternoon and early evening in spring and summer. This natural light helps create a romantic and authentic atmosphere that artificial lighting simply can’t replicate.
Therefore, I highly recommend prioritising flexibility with your shooting times to ensure the final images are spectacular.
